Privacy Policy

Quietly handled, plainly explained.

Effective: April 27, 2026

What we collect.

When you use the contact form on this site, we collect the information you choose to share: your name, your email address, your phone number (optional), the message you write, and your answer to “How did you hear about Bob?” (also optional). That is the entire list.

If basic website analytics (such as Google Analytics) are added in the future, your browser may send limited usage data — pages viewed, approximate region, browser type, device type, and referral source — to that service. That data is not intended to identify you to Bob and will not include your name, email address, phone number, or anything you submit through the contact form. As of the effective date above, no analytics tracking is active on this site. We do not use third-party advertising trackers, social-media pixels, or session-recording tools.

How we use it.

We use what you submit to respond to your inquiry, schedule a free 15-minute conversation if you would like one, and answer any questions you have about pastoral counseling. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your information for advertising or marketing purposes. We do not add you to a marketing list, and we do not send unsolicited follow-ups beyond responding to the conversation you started.

Service providers.

Contact-form submissions may be processed through the website’s hosting and form-handling provider (currently Netlify) and delivered by email to Bob. These providers process information only as needed to operate the website, deliver inquiries, and provide related technical services.

An important note about this site.

This website and its contact form are an introduction tool — not a clinical or emergency intake.

If You Are In Crisis

If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or considering suicide, please call 911 or contact the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by dialing or texting 988.

This site cannot provide immediate help. A trained crisis counselor can.

Please do not use the contact form to share specific counseling content, protected health information, or detailed case material. Confidential counseling conversations take place separately, through secure channels arranged with Bob directly. The contact form is appropriate for an initial “I’d like to talk” note — not for ongoing therapy correspondence.

This privacy policy covers the website and its contact form only. If you begin counseling services with Bob, privacy and confidentiality practices for the counseling relationship itself are addressed separately.

Cookies and analytics.

This site uses no third-party cookies for advertising or tracking. If analytics are added in the future, they will be used to understand overall site usage — page views, referral sources, approximate region, and device or browser information. They will not be used for advertising, retargeting, or social-media tracking, and we will not send your name, email address, phone number, or contact-form message contents to analytics providers.

If analytics are added, this policy will be updated with the new effective date and the site will display a brief disclosure notice on first visit.

Do Not Track and tracking signals.

This site does not currently use analytics, advertising pixels, social-media pixels, session-recording tools, or third-party advertising trackers. Because those tools are not active, the site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals in a separate way. If analytics are added in the future, this policy will be updated to explain what is used — and the site will not use advertising or retargeting trackers without first updating this policy.

How long we keep things.

We keep contact-form messages and email correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to respond to your inquiry, manage communications, complete a counseling engagement if you choose to begin one, and maintain ordinary business, legal, tax, or professional records. We do not keep website inquiry records longer than reasonably necessary for those purposes. If you would like your information removed from our records, please see the next section.

Your rights.

You may, at any time, ask us to:

  • Tell you what information we have about you
  • Correct anything that is inaccurate
  • Delete your information from our records, subject to any legitimate business-record obligations

To make any of these requests, email help@robertiburns.org with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within a couple of weeks. We will honor reasonable privacy requests unless we need to retain certain information for legitimate business, legal, tax, or professional-record purposes.
