Privacy Policy
Effective: April 27, 2026
Updated: August 16, 2026
What we collect.
When you use the contact form on this site, we collect the information you choose to share: your name, your email address, your phone number (optional), the message you write, and your answer to “How did you hear about Bob?” (also optional). The site’s host also records standard technical information, such as IP address and browser type, as part of serving the site.
How we use it.
We use what you submit to respond to your inquiry, schedule a free 15-minute conversation if you would like one, and answer any questions you have about pastoral counseling. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your information for advertising or marketing purposes. We do not add you to a marketing list, and we do not send unsolicited follow-ups beyond responding to the conversation you started.
Service providers.
Contact-form submissions may be processed through the website’s hosting and form-handling provider (currently Netlify) and delivered by email to Bob. These providers process information only as needed to operate the website, deliver inquiries, and provide related technical services.
What this policy covers.
This policy covers the website and its contact form only. If you begin counseling services with Bob, privacy and confidentiality practices for the counseling relationship itself are addressed separately.
This website and its contact form are an introduction tool — not a clinical or emergency intake. Please do not use the contact form to share specific counseling content, clinical detail, or case material, or for ongoing therapy correspondence. Confidential counseling conversations take place separately, through secure channels arranged with Bob directly.
If you are in crisis.
If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or considering suicide, please call 911 or contact the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by dialing or texting 988.
This site cannot provide immediate help. The Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available 24 hours a day.
Cookies, analytics, and Do Not Track.
This site does not use cookies for advertising or tracking, and does not use analytics, advertising trackers, social-media pixels, or session-recording tools. Because no such tools are active, the site does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals in any separate way.
If basic website analytics are added in the future, they would receive limited usage data — pages viewed, approximate region, browser type, device type, and referral source — and would not receive your name, email address, phone number, or anything you submit through the contact form. They would not be used for advertising or retargeting. If that happens, this policy will be updated with a new date and the site will display a disclosure notice on first visit.
How long we keep information.
We keep contact-form messages and email correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to respond to your inquiry, manage communications, complete a counseling engagement if you choose to begin one, and maintain ordinary business, legal, tax, or professional records. We do not keep website inquiry records longer than reasonably necessary for those purposes.
Your rights.
You may, at any time, ask us to:
- Tell you what information we have about you
- Correct anything that is inaccurate
- Delete your information from our records
To make any of these requests, email help@robertiburns.org with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We will respond to reasonable requests, except where we need to retain information for business, legal, tax, or professional-record purposes. Email is not a secure channel; please do not include sensitive details in your request.
